ST. LOUIS – Four Grammy-winning and Billboard-charting artists, Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker and Anthony Brown, will be performing at Friendly Temple Church for the Gospel Music Hall of Fame of Missouri’s “The Legends” tour.

“So to bring back gospel, the first largest, biggest gospel event of the year in St. Louis, we are excited,” Yolanda Yancie, co-founder of Gospel Music Hall and Fame of Missouri, said.

Hundreds showed up to enjoy a joint performance of four gospel artists who will be inducted into the Gospel Hall of Fame.

“It’s a Legends concert, so it’s going to have some substance. I’m looking forward to a great worship experience,” Robynne Moore, attendee, said.

Radio personality Rev. Mary Tillman, also known as the “radio angel,” has been on-air for 35 years and served as the mistress of ceremonies. Artists performed their timeless classics and modern hits.

“To have something positive that’s uplifting and inspirational, not only to me but everybody that comes here, I think it’s needed to give people a boost in the right direction,” Sean Thomas, radio personality, said.

The Gospel Hall of Fame of Missouri received $2 million from the governor to further the mission and impact of the organization.

“The Gospel Music Hall of Fame doesn’t exist anywhere. So we decided to open one in St. Louis, Missouri, to store our artifacts and remember our history,” Monica Butler, founder, said. “Gospel music has played such a pivotal part in all genres of music.”

The Gospel Hall of Fame of Missouri will host another concert for Mother’s Day.
