Horwich: Pair charged in connection with town centre thefts

Tony Meeks and Leigha Donnellan, both 33, were arrested on Thursday, July 20 after police received a series of reports about thefts from shops in Horwich town centre on that day.

Both were taken to police custody for question and officers today, Saturday, confirmed that the pair have both been charged with various crimes.

A GMP spokesperson said: “A 33-year-old man and 33-year-old woman have been charged in connection with a number of reported shop thefts in Horwich town centre.

“Tony Meeks of no fixed abode has been charged with five counts of theft and one common assault, and Leigha Donnellan of Chorley New Road, Bolton, with two counts of theft and one common assault.”

The thefts from shops are believed to have happened earlier this week on Thursday, July 20, the same day the pair were arrested.

Meeks and Donnellan will now both be brought before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.
