ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Detectives are investigating a homicide after a Jennings teen was shot last week and later died from his injuries.
The shooting happened January 24 in the 9000 block of Halls Ferry Road, just south of the Halls Ferry Circle in the Baden neighborhood of north St. Louis City.
According to Sgt. Tracy Panus, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis County Police Department, officers responded to a call at that location. Since it happened inside the city, county officers contacted their counterparts in the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
City police said a teenager had been found shot in the street and had been taken to a local hospital.
The victim, Isaiah Walker, succumbed to his injuries on January 27. He was 16. Walker lived approximately a third of a mile away on Cottonwood Drive, which is in the county.
The county’s Crimes Against Persons unit is handling the investigation, Panus said.
