John Terry pays emotional tribute to former Chelsea teammate and manager Gianluca Vialli after scoring in legends match… pointing to the sky as the Stamford Bridge crowd chant the Italian’s name

Chelsea legend John Terry paid an emotional tribute to Gianluca Vialli after he scored against a team of former Bayern Munich players.

The match, which was played on Saturday night at Stamford Bridge, was in memory of the former Blues’ player-manager.

Vialli passed away at the start of the year, with Chelsea raising funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and the Chelsea foundation on Saturday.

Terry netted a goal in the 26th minute after combining well with Florent Malouda, before he paid tribute to Vialli.

It was then that Terry paid the tribute, pointing to the sky with both his hands in memory of his former colleague.

Fans in attendance at Stamford Bridge paid their own tribute, with a banner unveiled in Vialli’s memory.

The tifo had an image of their former forward with an Italian flag in the background as it read: ‘When his goals light the sky, there’s a tear in my eye.’

After it’s unveiling, Stamford Bridge was filled with the chants of ‘Vialli, Vialli’ as Roberto Di Matteo and Gianluca Zola showed their emotion in the touchline.

Vialli’s wife and daughters were in attendance as there was minutes applause for the former forward, with the Chelsea team posing with a Vialli shirt before the match.

The Blues came out 4-0 victors over the Bayern Munich side as Michael Essien scored the opener.

Terry’s central defensive partner Gary Cahill also netted a goal before Tiago rounded off the match.

However, the result was the least important thing on the day as the Blues remember one of the greatest to ever do it for them.
