Lineup for Schenectady's Music Haven concert series

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The lineup has been announced for the 2024 Music Haven concert series. The free concert series takes place each year at Central Park in Schenectady.

All shows start at 7 p.m. unless it’s a special event, which will be noted below. Concessions open at 6 p.m. and feature Yanni’s 2-Go, Flacos Tacos, and Ben & Jerry’s with drinks from Frog Alley and Wolf Hollow Brewing Companies, and Nine Pin Cider.

Lineup

  • July 7: Mokoomba (Afropop from Zimbabwe) with special guest Jordan Taylor Hill
  • July 14: Buckwheat Zydeco & the IIs Sont Partis Band with special guest The Brass Machine
  • July 21: Slavic Soul Party (Balkan Brass Band) with special guest Niva
  • July 28: Goitse (Traditional Irish) with special guest Hair of the Dog
  • August 4: Anat Cohen Quartetinho (Brazilian Jazz) with special guest Art D’echo Trio + 1
  • August 5: SUNY Schenectady Jazz Faculty Combo featuring special guest Delfeayo Marsalis
  • August 9: 42nd Infantry Division Band of the New York Army National Guard
  • August 10: Schenectady-Saratoga Symphony Orchestra: “A Tribute to John Williams”
  • August 11: Eliades Ochoa (Cuban Son) with special guest Bolero Blues
  • August 16: Blues BBQ featuring Blood Brothers, Misty Blues, and Piedmont Bluz from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • August 18: Banda Magda (Global Jazz & Folk) with a special guest to be announced
  • August 23: Bollywood Night from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.. Featuring Veena & Devesh Chandra and Lalita. Ramnauth, Indian, and Guyanese food, and a screening of “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.”
  • August 24: MOP*CO Improv Theater with “Spontaneous Broadway”
  • August 30: Reggae Sunset from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Featuring Meta & The Cornerstones, Caribbean food, and a screening of “Bob Marley: One Love.”
  • September 6: Paint the Park Pink from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. featuring classic summer and pink food followed by a screening of “Barbie.”

In the case of bad weather, Proctors will be the rain site. The Niskayuna High School auditorium will be the rain site on August 4 and 10, if needed.
