Louis Tomlinson is the latest pop star-turned-entrepreneur to launch into the fashion business with the debut of 28, the new “premium luxe” label that has launched with ‘Drop 1’ for High Summer 23.
The launch release says Tomlinson has worked “in tandem with a pool of eminent creatives forming a trusted and seasoned collective to guide the product and the visual narrative” with the streetwear offer taking its inspiration from sport.
The result in this initial drop is wide-ranging as far as its sport references are concerned. It moves from “the football pitch to the skatepark” with “premium luxe takes on the Football Shirt”, while “soft luxurious roll-neck lightweight tops suggest a homage to the golf course as they sit in harmony alongside monogrammed anoraks and heavyweight plush jersey hoodies and half cab zip sweats”.
We’re also told that the collection “trades on the nuance of aspiration and influence, to be interpreted by the consumer and adapted to a modern wardrobe”.
There are “thrift-shop-chic” silhouettes along with luxury fabrics plus geometric logo designs “applied intelligently across green, black and neutral colourways, meaning these looks stretch your wardrobe way into the autumn”.
As well as the aforementioned pieces, there are tees, nylon anorak jackets accompanied by matching joggers and a selection of summer-ready accessories including a staple cap and socks.
