The Nissan Skyline sedan in Japan is starting to feel a little old but the range has just been updated with the launch of new Skyline Nismo and Nismo Limited variants. The duo have been unveiled just after the Nissan Z sports car was also updated with a Nismo version.
Nissan says its aim with the Skyline Nismo models was to build a sedan that is just as comfortable as the standard model but is even faster, leveraging Nismo’s racing technologies and expertise. Just 1,000 examples of the standard Skyline Nismo will be produced, each with a modified 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 309 kW (414 hp) and 550 Nm of torque. The car can be driven in three modes; Standard, Sport, and Sport+, the latter two of which has tweaked transmission settings to hasten changes.

Elsewhere, Nissan has equipped the sedan with new Enkei 19-inch wheels wrapped in high-performance tires paired with specially tuned suspension and stabilizers to reduce roll and optimize traction. Nismo’s engineers have also changed the material of the brake pads.
A handful of visual changes have also been made. For example, the car rocks revised front and rear bumpers with bright red accents, has Nismo badges, fog lights, and a different front grille to maximize cooling. The interior also stands out thanks to a new leather-wrapped steering wheel, a red-ringed tachometer, black Recaro seats, and various pieces of suede upholstery.
As for the Nissan Skyline Nismo Limited, it is capped at just 100 units and stands out thanks to matte gunmetal painted wheels, an engine plaque with the name of the engine builder, and an exclusive serial plate with the production number and a unique logo.
Japanese pricing for the Skyline Nismo kicks off from 7,880,400 yen ($54,692) and tops out at 9,479,000 yen ($66,111) for the Nismo Limited.
