If you still haven’t tried next-generation gaming, now may be the time to take the plunge.
Sony is offering a £40 discount on its latest PS5 slim models until June 12.
To sweeten the deal, it’s throwing in a free 12-month Netflix Premium subscription for PS Plus members, which is normally £18 per month.
The offer is part of the firm’s annual Days of Play sale, including reductions on PS5 games, accessories, PS Plus subscriptions, and merchandise.
How much does a PS5 cost?
With the limited-time markdown, you can grab the PS5 digital edition for £350, down from £390, and the detachable disc drive model for £440, down from £480 — a saving of 10 per cent and 8 per cent respectively.

Sony released the slim editions of its latest gaming machine last November, shortly after the PS5’s third anniversary, replacing the original bulky model.
Since then, discounts on the PS5 have become more frequent in response to flagging sales. Retailers have temporarily cut the console’s price on at least two occasions this year, with the cost of the disc model dropping to a low of £409 in February.
Due to muted sales during the recent holiday period and the PS5 aging, Sony was forced to slash its sales forecast for its 2023 fiscal year. It missed its original 25 million unit target by more than four million consoles sold.
It is reportedly planning an upgraded PS5 Pro console for release around the festive season — and as soon as November. That would coincide with the launch of GTA 6, the year’s most anticipated game.
The PS VR2 was launched in February 2023

PS5 Slim versus regular – what’s the difference?
Although they boast the same graphics capabilities as the regular versions, they offer some design and storage tweaks.
Sony says the Slim model is 30 per cent smaller than the original. But, we’re still dealing with a hefty piece of hardware that others have noted is still larger than the Xbox Series X.
Additionally, you can purchase an optional detachable disc drive for £100 for the digital edition. That way, you can get the best of both worlds by downloading digital games from the PS Store and buying new and used physical copies, which often get markdowns soon after release.
Both versions of the slim console also come with slightly more internal storage as standard: 1TB on the slim versus 825G on the regular editions, giving you a bit more room for games.
