Lovato first announced her management with Braun in 2019, saying that the partnership was like “dreams came true” for her.
“I officially have a NEW MANAGER. And not just any manager but the one and only Scooter Braun,” she said. “Couldn’t be happier, inspired, and excited to begin this next chapter — thank you for believing in me and for being a part of this new journey.”
While Grande has worked with Braun for 10 years, and has released six albums under his management, five of which have topped the US Billboard Charts.
Who is Scooter Braun?
Scooter Braun started his career organising parties when he was a student before becoming executive director for marketing at So So Def Recordings, run by Jermaine Dupri. He later quit to start his own marketing company. In 2007, he formed the entertainment and marketing company SB Projects, and later Raymond-Braun Media Group, a joint venture with Usher.
Braun is most famous for being Justin Bieber’s manager. The 42-year-old manager and music executive first discovered a young Bieber singing on YouTube in 2008. He instantly saw his potential.
Braun then arranged with Bieber’s mother to bring him to Atlanta for a no-strings-attached trial period. This led to Braun convincing them to move permanently from Canada to the United States.
Usher and Justin Timberlake also expressed interest, and Bieber signed with Island Def Jam in partnership with Raymond-Braun Media Group (RBMG).
Braun became Bieber’s manager in 2008, and signed singer Ariana Grande in 2013.
He was also involved in a public dispute with Taylor Swift. Swift alleged Braun had bullied her through Bieber and former client Kanye West and their social media posts, and through leaks of sensitive information. Braun told Variety in 2022 that Swift’s reaction was “very confusing and not based on anything factual”.
Braun has three children — two sons and a daughter — with Canadian health activist Yael Cohen. They were married in 2014 and divorced in 2022.

Why have Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande left Scooter Braun?
The reason Demi Lovato is no longer working with Braun is unknown, but Variety reported that the separation was “amicable”. The former Disney Channel star is in the midst of releasing her new album, Revamped, which will feature some re-recorded rock versions of her famous songs.
It is also unclear why Ariana Grande is cutting ties with Braun. The singer will be starring in the upcoming movie adaptation of the musical Wicked.
