Sen. Rand Paul Sends Criminal Referral of Dr. Anthony Fauci to Department of Justice | Wayne Dupree

Because of his alleged dishonesty during committee hearings, Sen. Rand Paul (R, KY) has criminally referred Dr. Anthony Fauci to the Department of Justice.

Paul centered on an email Fauci sent in 2020 in which he mentioned that several “highly credible” scientists had expressed concern about the possibility that the Coronavirus’ mutations were deliberate, and that “the suspicion was heightened by the fact that scientists in Wuhan University are known to have been working on gain-of-function experiments.”

Paul claims that Fauci’s comments in the email are in stark contrast to what he said in committee testimony to the senator.

“When Anthony Fauci appeared before my committee, he firmly declared that he did not finance any gain of function research in China. He outlines the research they are conducting in an email that we have. What, they said, do you know? Because we are aware that the lab is conducting gain of function research, we are wary of them.

Paul told Fox News that “everything he has been telling us from the beginning has been a lie.”

Even so, Paul is said to have acknowledged that it is unlikely that Fauci will actually be made to answer for his deeds. “I’ve twice referred him to the US attorney general for prosecution, but as you know, this AG is the most partisan one we’ve ever had. And good luck getting him to perform his duties. The likelihood that Fauci will go to jail hasn’t stopped Paul from working to see justice done, though.

Paul and Fauci have been at odds ever since Fauci’s testimony to lawmakers in July 2021.

Paul presented Fauci with a paper citing the National Institute of Health that involved the author engaging in gain-of-function research with bat coronaviruses after Fauci asserted that the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) “has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.” Fauci responded, “You don’t know what you’re talking about,” to Paul, a graduate of the Duke University School of Medicine.

Of course, there will probably be a new set of issues if Fauci is ever charged with a crime. After all, it appears that the media may refer to Fauci’s prosecution as “Science on trial” if, as he has claimed, “attacks on me are attacks on science.”
