Porn star Stormy Daniels is still processing the news of Donald Trump’s conviction in the hush money trial, shortly after the guilty verdict was read Thursday, her husband Barrett Blade said.
Former US president Donald Trump, 77, was found guilty on Thursday of all 34 counts of falsifying business documents to cover up his hush money payment to Daniels during the 2016 US election.

“It’s a big weight off her shoulders at this point,” Blade said.
On the stand, Daniels described how she and Trump met at a celebrity golf tournament and what she says happened when she went to Trump’s Lake Tahoe hotel room in 2006.
She also told the jury about a $US130,000 hush money payment she received from former Trump attorney Michael Cohen before the 2016 election.
“She was brought into this. This wasn’t her seeking justice for herself. She was standing up for herself early on and saying what was right, but this whole hush money trial is really nothing … it’s not her story,” Blade said.
Still, Blade said Daniels “feels a little vindicated that, you know, she was telling the truth” after the jury heard her testimony.
He said they would have supported the jury’s decision either way.
Trump pleaded not guilty and denied the alleged 2006 sexual encounter with Daniels, but the 12-person jury found him guilty.
“Hopefully people will finally start seeing the truth and if they do, they do, if they don’t, they don’t. I don’t know that that ever changes,” Blade said.
Trump faces a maximum sentence of four years in prison, however other people convicted of the same crime often receive shorter sentences, fines or probation.
The guilty verdict makes Trump the first former president in US history to be convicted of a felony, but it will neither prevent Trump from running in an election, nor from taking office if he wins.
Trump, who called the trial “rigged”, is seeking to take back the White House from Democratic President Joe Biden this year in a November 5 election.
Trump faces three other criminal prosecutions but they are not expected to go to trial before the November 5 election.
