The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? ‘Cause her Eras-themed skeletons are currently being strewn across someone’s lawn. Although Taylor Swift isn’t the first star we’d typically associate with Halloween, TikTok proves her discography was actually made for spooky season. As the first leg of the Eras Tour comes to a close, fans are quite literally refusing to let it die, hilariously dressing up faux skeletons to resemble each of Swift’s 10 eras and albums.
TikTok user mags_reverie was one of the first to spot an Eras graveyard this year, passing by a house with a skeleton for each album. Dressed in blond wigs and incredibly thoughtful costumes, the skeletal Swifties wore everything from a “Speak Now”-era purple halter dress, to a “Shake It Off”-inspired cheerleading uniform harkening back to “1989.” Upon closer inspection, one indoor skeleton even held a “You OK?” sign up against the window, throwing it back to the iconic “You Belong With Me” music video.
Another TikToker, Katelyn McLaughlin, created her own elaborate Eras decor for her house, enlisting the help of family and friends. “My husband built the wood frames [and] cages, and my two kids helped me paint them,” she tells POPSUGAR. Each frame encased a different skeleton. “I also handmade some of the costumes, including the snake bodysuit, the ‘Reputation Blind For Love’ sweatshirt, and the ‘Junior Jewels’ shirt.” As an added touch, McLaughlin’s family plans to hand out friendship bracelets in addition to candy this year.
While some chose to highlight each individual era like McLaughlin, other users honed in on one specific album. In Michal Owens‘s case, she dressed a towering 12-foot skeleton in a turquoise two-piece set as a nod to Swift’s “1989” World Tour outfit. As a response to the singer’s recent dating rumors, a matching 12-foot Travis Kelce skeleton also joined in on the fun, rocking an impressive mustache and Chiefs jersey.
