Unlike the corporate kool-aid, the Tesla Mezcal has a 43% ABV
- Tesla is now offering a high-end mezcal for a hefty price tag of $450.
- It is described as having a unique flavor profile with smoky and floral notes, and comes in a hand-blown glass bottle shaped like a black lightning bolt.
- The Mezcal is only available in certain areas and has purchase limitations (2 bottles per customer), with shipping starting in 3-6 weeks.
Elon Musk fanboys are known for drinking the corporate kool-aid but, if they want to step up to the big boy table, they have another option. However, it doesn’t come cheap as the brand-new Tesla Mezcal retails for $450.
If that’s not too rich for your blood, you’ll get a “smoky and floral” mezcal that promises to have a “smooth finish.” Tesla went on to say the “artisanal Tahona-milled mezcal” was created using the “alembic distillation process by intuitively combining the distinct flavors of native Espadín and Bicuishe agaves.”

The resulting drink is said to be as “delicate as it is spicy, with a deep citrus and green apple nose that gives way to soft herbal notes with a delicate smokiness that lingers on the tongue.” Drinkers can also expect “notes of tuberose, jasmine and chamomile that soften into a balanced, velvety mouthfeel.”
If you’re not concerned about the taste, the mezcal has a 43% ABV, which stands for alcohol by volume. That should at least put a smile on your face and make the sting of the $450 price tag a bit less painful.
However, the drink is only part of the experience as the mezcal comes in hand-blown glass bottle that resembles a black lightning bolt. The bottle was designed by Tesla’s Javier Verdura and holds 25.34 fl oz (750 mL).
Needless to say, customers need to be at least 21 years old to purchase the mezcal and it’s only available in certain states and zip codes. Consumers are also limited to two bottles and orders are slated to begin shipping in three to six weeks.
The mezcal comes a few months after CyberBeer hit the market in October. It costs $150 for two bottles and includes two CyberSteins. You can find it on Tesla’s dedicated webpage here.
