The Blink Outdoor 4 is a fourth-generation smart security camera that was released this year; normally, it sells for $119.99 each on Amazon. The Blink Mini is the first generation model and was released in 2020, and normally sells for $34.99 on Amazon. A bundle of all three (two Blink Outdoor 4s and a Blink Mini) will normally run you $234.98, but is on sale right now for $117.49.
What you should know about the security cameras
The Blink Outdoor 4 uses 2 AA lithium batteries, which last for two years, and it’s weather resistant, has motion-activation alerts, a live-view mode (up to five minutes without a Blink subscription plan), shoots in 1080p, has two-way audio, and works with Alexa, just like its third generation predecessor. New features include an “enhanced motion detection” feature, a wider 143° diagonal view (compared to 110°), and an optional person-detection feature if you get the Blink subscription plan, which is a separate charge.
The Blink Mini is a wired, plug-in camera that is not weather-resistant, so it’s really meant for indoor use. It also has motion activation alerts, a live-view mode, shoots in 1080p, has two-way audio, and works with Alexa.
You have two options for a Blink subscription plan. The Blink Basic Plan is $30 per year; the Blink Plus Plan runs you $100 a year with more features, the most important of which is having an unlimited number of devices hooked up to your account.
