How can you get inspiration for adding coins to your portfolio? One option is to look at what crypto OGs are holding. As it happens to be, the Altcoin Buzz CEO is one of them.
Taking a look at what he’s holding may give you some ideas. So, let’s take a closer look at what coins our CEO is holding. This is the second part of the article. Here is the first one.

Bitcoin (BTC)
You can’t be an OG if you don’t hold the #1 OG coin, Bitcoin. The #1 crypto coin of all coins? Well, our Altcoin Buzz CEO, Shash Gupta, does own BTC. Despite naming his company ‘Altcoin’ Buzz. Well, there’s no shame in holding BTC. Actually, 75% of his portfolio is BTC!
As we know, Bitcoin is a decentralized, P2P payment system. So, you can buy goods or services with BTC. However, recently, BTC has also become a store of value for many users. Other new use cases for Bitcoin are the Ordinals. In other words, NFTs on Bitcoin. In a short time frame, they’ve become very popular.

Ethereum (ETH)
When talking about crypto OGs and coins, Ethereum is part of that select group as well. Ethereum introduced smart contracts to crypto. This gives it its most important use cases. They are a fundamental building block for, among others, DeFi and NFTs.
Ethereum has the biggest ecosystem in both spaces. Definitely a first-mover advantage. In the meantime, Ethereum switched from PoW to PoS and its ETH coin became deflationary.
In the latest Ethereum news, Vitalik Buterin transferred 600 ETH to Coinbase. That’s around $1 million. This sparked fear that the ETH price may plunge to $1,000.

Dogecoin (DOGE)
Dogecoin started out as a memecoin. However, a project that started as a joke takes now the 9th spot by market cap. Part of their rise to stardom is Elon Musk’s love for this token. Any tweet or mention of the token by him gives it a surge. Over time, DOGE also got some use cases. You can use it, for example, for:
- Tipping.
- As a form of payment.
- Sports betting.
- Charity and fundraising.
DOGE’s logo is a Shiba Inu dog. However, the original Shiba Inu dog, used for the coin’s profile, has recently died. He passed away after he lost a fight, battling cancer.
Dogecoin is still decentralized.
Dogecoin is still open source.
Dogecoin is still not controlled by a single entity.
Dogecoin is still a currency. But opportunists will appear officious to gain your trust, to take your money. Trust but verify by track record, not labels.

Arweave (AR)
Arweave is all about decentralized storage. There’s plenty of growth in this area. That’s because every 24 hours, humans produce 2.5 million terabytes of data. Not all, but most of this data needs storage. On Arweave you can store data for at least 200 years or longer. You can store any kind of data on Arweave. Two main data storage options on offer are, for instance:
- Permanent file storage saves any type of file.
- And the permaweb, this saves and can index webpages.
Recently, you can upload content smaller than 150 KB for free on Arweave.
1/ Unleash Arweave! Check out the latest initiative from @4everland_org in partnership with @perma_dao & @everVisionHQ that enables users to upload content smaller <150KB on to #Arweave for free! Plus, even for larger content, the team is providing discounts up to 90%!

Polygon (MATIC)
Polygon is currently the most popular layer 2 solution. The Polygon team built on top of Ethereum. It deals with Ethereum’s shortcomings. For instance, scalability and fast and cheap transactions.
Last year, Polygon was in the news with all its new partnerships. These ranged from Nike, Disney, the NBA, to Starbucks, and more. Most of these partnerships involved NFTs. That’s an area of immense growth for Polygon. The platform also has a wide variety of use cases. For example:
- Supply chain management.
- Gaming.
- Healthcare.
- And more.
Polygon recently added its zkEVM chain, and soon its Supernet chains will launch. The MATIC token will also upgrade to POL.
Polygon was one of the most integrated chain in the past 3 months
Q2 was marked with numerous emerging use cases and integration of on-chain tools for @0xPolygonDeFi ecosystem.

Firo (FIRO)
Firo is a bonus on our list. It’s a project that offers privacy solutions. You may have heard of Zcoin, it rebranded from this. Crypto transactions are pseudonymous. Firo wants to add an extra privacy layer to this. It uses a PoW consensus mechanism.
The platform uses Lelantus as its current privacy protocol. With Lelantus Spark, they aim to make transactions private by default. This should launch, later in 2023. The following video is a brief introduction to Firo.
Conclusion
It’s always good to diversify your portfolio. One way of getting inspiration for this, is to look at other portfolios. Today we look at our CEO, Shash, and a few coins that he holds.
