Wallace reportedly stated that “whether we like it or not, people want to see a bit of gratitude” from Ukraine during the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania this week.
Wallace noted that Ukraine and its allies had to “persuade politicians who had doubts” that aiding Ukraine in its conflict with Russia was “worthwhile” as well as “persuade countries to give up their own stocks” of weapons and ammunition.
In reference to the online retailer Amazon.com, Wallace allegedly said, “I told them that last year, when I drove 11 hours to be given a list, that I’m not like Amazon.”

Jake Sullivan, the national security adviser for the US, also stated during the summit that the US and NATO deserved “gratitude” for their support of Ukraine.
He added that “the American people do deserve a measure of gratitude,” as does “every allied partner that’s supporting it,” and that “the United States of America has stepped up to help ensure that Ukraine’s brave soldiers have the ammunition, the air defense, the infantry fighting vehicles, the mine-clearing equipment, and so much else to be able to effectively defend against Russia’s onslaught and to take territory back as well.”
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, spoke after Wallace and Sullivan said their remarks, saying in so doing, “I am grateful to all leaders in NATO countries for very practical and unprecedented support.”
