Going by the official schedule, the Preliminary Examination of the Civil Services Examination for recruitment to the
Services and Posts such as the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Audit and Accounts Service, Group ‘A’, Indian Civil Accounts Service, Group ‘A’, Indian Corporate Law Service, Group ‘A’, Indian Defence Accounts Service, Group ‘A’ will be held on June 16, 2024. The admit card is the important document required for entry into the examination hall. Candidates must ensure they carry a printout of the admit card, along with two to three recent passport-size photographs to the examination centre for the UPSC CSE Prelims 2024.   • Candidates are advised not to bring any valuables/costly items in the Examination Halls as safe keeping of the same cannot be assured. The Commission will not be responsible for any loss in this regard.
  • Enter the Examination Hall 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the Examination in each session.
  • Entry to the Examination Hall closes 10 minutes prior to the scheduled commencement of the examination in each Session.
  • Possession (even in switch off mode) / use of Mobile Phones and other Electronics / Communication devices are banned at the examination premises. Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future examinations under the rules of the examination.
  •  Candidates who do not have clear photographs on the e-admit card will have to bring passport size photograph, one for each session, for appearing in the examination with an Undertaking.
  • Use of Scientific (Non-Programmable type) Calculators is allowed and if considered necessary may be brought by candidates. Programmable type calculators are, however, not allowed in this examination.
  •  Candidates are required to use the specific space, available at designated place in answer copy, for rough work. Copy of the admit card or any other space/sheet etc. should not be used for rough work.
  • Candidates are advised to wear mask/face cover. Candidates, however, will have to remove their masks for verification, whenever required by the Examination functionaries.
  • Candidate may carry his/her own hand sanitizer (small size) in transparent bottle.
  • Candidates to follow COVID 19 norms of ‘social distancing’ as well as ‘personal hygiene’ inside the Examination Halls/Rooms as well as in the premises of the Venue.
