Massive Attack star Angelo Bruschini died on Monday, aged 62, following a battle with rare and aggressive lung cancer called Pleomorphic Carcinoma.
The band confirmed the sad news on Tuesday, writing: ‘RIP Angelo. A singularly brilliant & eccentric talent. Impossible to quantify your contribution to the Massive Attack canon. How lucky we were to share such a life together.’
Angelo is survived by his wife, Jessica Merritt, who shared the news of his passing on her Facebook profile, alongside heartbreaking snaps of their last ten months together.

Jessica has been working for the NHS for the past two years.

Jessica uploaded her first photo of the pair on her Facebook profile in 2013, in which she sported a white bleached pixie cut, and embraced the Massive Attack star as they beamed at the camera in a selfie.
She shared a picture of their wedding in 2017, with Jessica uploaded a picture of the two walking hand in hand in what appears to be a Registry Office.
In the photo, Angelo looks dapper in a black suit and grey tie, while Jessica looked stunning in a satin metallic pink gown, accessorised with a grey fur shawl and pink embellished shoes and her hair styled in a smart updo.
