Candace Owens Faces Gag Order After Departure from Former Employers | Wayne Dupree

Despite continuing discussions for a public debate about Israel and antisemitism, Candace Owens’ former employers have acquired a gag order against her, according to recent sources.

Following Owens’ departure from the firm in March, the conservative news and opinion site Daily Wire filed a request for a gag order against her with a private arbitration, according to the New York Post.

Ben Shapiro, the co-founder, made this decision after openly expressing his desire to debate Owens on the previously listed subjects.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald disclosed in his Locals newsletter that the gag order was secretly issued while Shapiro and Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boreing were conferring with Owens about the parameters of the discussion.

The gag order apparently forbids Owens from saying anything that might hurt Daily Wire’s image or degrade it, even though Boreing denied the veracity of Greenwald’s allegation and said that the problems with Owens were being handled discreetly.

Greenwald claims that the arbitrator decided in favor of Daily Wire, calling Owens’ social media challenges to Shapiro and questions about his views on Israel “disparaging.”

When asked to react, Owens said she “can neither confirm nor deny” the allegation, indicating that she was unable to provide any further information at this time.

One of the well-known hosts on Daily Wire prior to her departure, Owens was well-known for her “BLEXIT” campaign and her activism as a black conservative.

However, Shapiro, an ardent defender of Israel, and she fell out of public harmony when she criticized Israel’s military response to Hamas strikes in October 2021.

Even though Boreing had previously assured her that her work would be safe despite her differences in opinion, Daily Wire ultimately fired Owens, citing her outspoken criticism of Israel and antisemitic beliefs as being in opposition to the company’s rules.
