A hardcore 911 GT3 RS has been spied on the Nürburgring with extensive aerodynamic upgrades
Porsche and Manthey Racing joined forces in 2013 and this has resulted in numerous victories on the track. Porsche’s 51% stake has also paved the way for a handful of packages over the years.
Another is apparently on the horizon as spy photographers have snapped a hardcore prototype undergoing testing on the Nürburgring. Believed to be an extreme 911 GT3 RS MR, the prototype immediately draws attention thanks to its green wheels and massive rear wing.
Those aren’t the only upgrades as the car has been outfitted with front flicks and a vertical rear fin that ‘cuts’ through the rear window. They’re joined by an extreme diffuser and small vortex generators that are mounted on top of the roof. The combination of these components should ensure the car is effectively glued to the track.
It remains unclear if there are any other upgrades, but Manthey offers an assortment of goodies for the 911 GT3 RS. These include an adjustable coilover suspension, magnesium wheels, and high-performance brake pads. Customers can also get an assortment of carbon fiber components including a Gurney flap and an engine deck lid cover.

While there’s still a lot we don’t know at this point, the current 911 GT3 RS starts at $241,300 and has a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter boxer engine developing 518 hp (386 kW / 525 PS) and 342 lb-ft (463 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a seven-speed PDK transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in three seconds flat and hit a top speed of up to 184 mph (296 km/h).
There’s no word on when the package (or special edition) will be introduced, but the company has been testing the model since last fall so a debut likely isn’t too far off.
