Uttar Pradesh School Closing News Updates: Classes will remain suspended and schools will remain shut in parts of Meerut and Hapur districts on April 24-26 due to Lok Sabha Elections 2024 second phase. The step has been taken by the district administration to facilitate the electoral process as schools and colleges within the constituency have been set up as polling centers.

Security Forces Deployed at Polling Stations

As per the schedule announced by the EC, the polling for the second phase of elections for the Meerut-Hapur Lok Sabha seat is scheduled to take place on April 26.  Security forces have been deployed at these polling stations to maintain a peaceful environment during the elections.

Considering students’ safety and to prevent any inconvenience caused by the election process, teaching activities in schools will be suspended on April 24 and 25. Additionally, schools will remain closed on April 26 due to the voting day being declared a public holiday.

To closely monitor sensitive areas, District Election Officer, DM Deepak Meena, conducted a meeting with the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) and sector and zonal magistrates at the Vikas Bhawan Auditorium and said the preparations for the upcoming voting were reviewed during the meeting. The DM instructed the officials to visit sensitive areas and communicate with the voters.

Apart from Meerut and Hapur, schools will also remain shut in Noida, and Greater Noida areas for the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

In total, schools and colleges in Uttar Pradesh will be closed during Phase 2 of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in these eight (8) constituencies, on April 26, Friday.

It is important to note that the schools and colleges are closed during elections to ensure a smooth democratic process.

Schools and colleges will remain shut during elections to reduce distractions from political activities and campaigning, allowing students to concentrate on their studies once classes resume.

As per the EC announcements, polling in Uttar Pradesh will be held for 80 Lok Sabha seats and the model code of conduct has come into force on March 16 and will remain in force even after the polling on June 1 till the entire process of counting is completed on June 4.
