'Wake Up Wednesdays' in Troy to kick off free music season

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Ryan’s Wake Public House in Troy is bringing back its “Wake Up Wednesdays” free outdoor concert series for the second year. The series also kicks off free music season for the Capital Region.

“Last year was like getting the band back together,” said Ryan’s Wake General Manager Jared Kingsley. “We had so much fun we decided to do it again.”

The concerts take place on Wednesday nights starting at 5 p.m. The concerts go on rain or shine but will be moved inside in case of bad weather.

“It’s called ‘Wake Up Wednesdays’ but you’ll also be able to wake up on Thursday because you don’t have to stay out too late,” said Kingsley.

Lineup

  • May 15: Hair of the Dog (Celtic)
  • May 22: The Troy Music Review featuring The Family Tree and special guests (Rock)
  • May 29: Eastbound Jesus (Americana/Bluegrass)
  • June 5: The Beadle Brothers (Modern Country)
  • June 12: Yacht Masters NY (Yacht Rock)
  • June 19: The Accents with special guest Virgil Cain (Party)

Ryan’s Wake was the original location of Troy’s summer concert series, Rockin’ on the River, which started in 2008. After five years, the concerts outgrew the spot and were moved to a bigger location.

This year’s presenting sponsor is NextStep Federal Credit Union. Ryan’s Wake Public House is located at 403 River Street in Troy.
