Buying a classic car isn’t something you do with your head. This is a decision driven by your heart. And if my heart was calling for me to buy a classic car (and if I had this budget), something like this 1973 BMW 3.0CS would be at the top of my list.

This beautiful E9 was originally painted in Nachtblau Metallic and has since been resprayed in a light shade of blue. It has been outfitted with an aftermarket front air dam that was recently repainted and rolls on a set of 16-inch Alpina-style wheels wrapped in new Pirelli tires.

Owning a classic car like this can bring with it many mechanical challenges. Fortunately, this car has undergone some work to prepare it for sale, including the fitment of new control arms, sway bar end link bushings, axle boots, and spark plug wires. The Bring a Trailer listing notes the front brake calipers have also been rebuilt while the rear ones were replaced in February alongside the brake pads.

Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t go into detail about the vehicle’s service history and the seller isn’t sure if the 3.0-liter M30 inline-six under the hood is the original engine. This engine recently had its drive belt and valve cover gasket replaced and has nearly 76,000 miles (~122,000 km) under its belt. If it has been maintained well, it should have many years of smooth running ahead. If not, the winning bidder may have to open their wallet for any required fixes that may be needed.

The interior is straight out of the 1970s. It includes a three-spoke steering wheel with a wooden rim, tan-colored leather on the seats and door panels, and plenty of wooden accents. There is also a Pioneer audio system, air conditioning, and power windows.
