NEW YORK, March 10, (Agencies): A woman found herself hospitalized after an unfortunate incident involving a train in lower Manhattan on Saturday morning, as reported by the New York City Police Department. According to an official statement, officers swiftly responded to a 911 call around 10:25 a.m. regarding a female on the tracks at the Fulton Street subway station in lower Manhattan.
Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered a 29-year-old woman who remained “conscious” and “responsive” despite having been “struck by a southbound No. 3 train,” as detailed by the NYPD. Preliminary findings from the investigation indicated that she had been forcibly “pushed onto the tracks.”
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) promptly arrived, and the unidentified woman was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, although she had unfortunately lost both of her feet in the incident.
Sources close to the matter suggested that the woman’s boyfriend was allegedly responsible for pushing her onto the tracks. Witnesses recounted that the couple was engaged in an argument, which escalated to the point where he reportedly pushed her before fleeing the scene. Descriptions provided indicated that the man was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, and a dark-colored jacket during his escape. In an effort to gather more information, the police have been scouring the area for video evidence capturing the interaction between the couple.
The incident had significant repercussions for subway commuters, with southbound trains experiencing delays for several hours as the police conducted their thorough investigation.
