Zara McDermott has been shared love by her former Strictly Come Dancing co-star as she was left feeling under the weather following worrying events at home. The documentary maker has had a busy time of late and is currently promoting her latest documentary.
Her latest four-part series, Ibiza: Secrets of the Party Island sees Zara follow the money, from the people spending it on the streets and in the clubs to the hilltop villas where much of the wealth resides. She also goes out with the organised crime unit of UDYCO, part of the national police force who work undercover to catch the gangs who target the wealthy.
But ahead of appearing on Morning Live on Wednesday (April 24), Zara admitted to not feeling her best. The former Love Island said alongside a snap of her view on the train from London to Manchester: “A long to-do list but I haven’t been able to think about it yet as I’ve felt so poorly!”

She continued to explain: “I’m getting the dreaded body shivers, achy everywhere and I feel like I’ve got a golf ball in my throat… Let’s hope I feel better after a good night’s sleep. Can’t remember the last time I felt like this! I think it’s all the adrenaline of the last week!”
It comes after Zara and her boyfriend Sam Thompson were hit by worrying news over their beloved cat. Zara and Sam share ragdoll cats Albus and Cedric, named after Sam’s favourite Harry Potter characters. Last week, Zara shared a picture of Cedric, who was in a carry cage with one of its legs bandaged up. “My heart is breaking into a million pieces at the moment,” the reality star-turned-presenter started to type to her followers.
She explained: “Just before the weekend while I was away working, Sam woke up to our little man unresponsive and super hot. So he was rushed to the vet and then he was rushed to an emergency animal hospital.” After stays in different veterinary hospitals, Zara revealed after her first-ever appearance on The One Show where she chatted about her latest BBC3 documentary that she was able to go a pick up her beloved pet.
On Friday (April 19), Zara returned with a video message on her Instagram Story as she gave the promised update to her fans and followers. “Honestly, he was a bit traumatised. I’m not going to lie, but he’s feeling a bit better now. He’s definitely very sleepy and wants a lot of rest…”
She continued after showing Cedric with a shaved tummy and shaved patches on his legs: “So the diagnosis is that he has something called neutrophilic/bacterial cholangitis which is an inflammatory liver disease. He’s also got a lot of inflammation in his gallbladder, his bile ducts, you could see it all on the ultrasounds that they did on him.”
Meanwhile, Zara was also flooded with messages as she shared a string of snaps to Instagram. The former Love Island star, 27, took to the social media platform to post an album of pictures to round up her month as April starts to draw to a close.
In one snap she could be seen flashing her toned legs as she posed sitting on the pavement while sporting an off-the-shoulder sweatshirt as she sipped on a green juice following a trip to the flower shop. She also teased an upcoming appearance on The Weakest Link as she posed behind the stand for a snap.
Zara also shared a sweet snap of her beloved boyfriend Sam Thompson holding a fresh bouquet of flowers before seeing him on stage in his podcast tour with best mate Pete Wicks and she also flashed her taut abs in a skimpy purple bikini as she posed up a storm on a sun lounger in photo taken during a recent trip to Dubai.
Quick to respond to the post was Sam’s sister Louise Thompson who said: “The photo of Sam with the flowers is CRACKING ME UP! All others are hot stuff though.” Former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri commented: “Gorgey,” while Strictly co-star and reigning champ Ellie Leach simply replied: “Love you,” with a red heart as their reunion featured in the picture round up.
